Laksa @ Ayer Itam Market, Penang

Henry Tan | 9:29 PM | | | 2 Comments so far
In other states, people might call it asam laksa.
But in Penang, we just simply call it laksa!
Remember, it is not curry mee or whatsoever!

"Laksa is a sour fish-based soup."

The tamarind (asam) makes the laksa sour and "Heh Koh" (prawn paste) to make it sweet.
Usually the ingredients include shredded cucumber, raw onion, torch ginger, red chilies or even pineapple.
The fish-based soup usually uses mackerel (ikan kembung).
Either shredded or whole slice of fish, or even both!

Heh Kok, black in color

 Best combo with sugar cane!

If you are allergic to prawn, remember not to put Heh Koh.
But it would be less nicer! =p
Personally, I won't mind itchy for a few days for good food! =D
But, a lot of people that you have to sit at opposite of the road.

Taste: 8/10 (My friend said very nice! she very choosy de! haha)
Price: 7/10 (RM3 per bowl, definitely ok!)
Environment: 6/10 (at the roadside market!)
Service: 7/10 (fast even there are a lot of people!)

Outing @ Straits Quay

Henry Tan | 10:05 PM | 4 Comments so far
Always heard people talking about Straits Quay.
Finally I get to go and have a look!
But first, I gotta ask...

"How do you pronounce "Quay"?"

Okay, honestly, i called it "Straits "Kuih"" in the beginning. =.=
Then they told me should be "Straits Kee".
Here's some photos of it!

Haha. like in dreamland. =p

The lighting simple but nice.

The water should be splashed higher! lol

 Luporti and me. haha

if you see carefully, it is still under construction.

Indoor and outdoor walkway

It would be nicer when everything is done!

 Seaview! nice!

reflection. =)

 nice?

Most of the shops are not open yet.
Nothing much either.
But definitely suitable for a bunch of friends to chill out.
Drink some beer, feel the sea breeze and enjoy the seaview!

"How awesome life could be
if my house is there! LOL"

We tried all types of meats.. =D

Nice environment...

 Stalking on the girl. LOL

Total up RM90! =.=

You can see from the outside..

Not hard to recognize, ain't?

The environment definitely is good.
Somehow the food is very disappointing.

Taste: 6/10 (Duck meat wasn't nice at all especially it is served cold!)
Price: 6/10 (3 type of meats - RM22.50)
Environment: 7/10 (Restaurant style, but too cold that affects the food!)
Service: 7/10 (Quite slow, yet the food served is not hot!)

"I won't recommend this place unless the food is served hot."
